Pete St. John, der in vielen Quellen als Textschöpfer \\
genannt wird, änderte lediglich wenige Worte einer \\
irischen Ballade aus den 1880er Jahren und fügte die \\
Melodie in den 1970er Jahren hinzu. \\
Das Lied erzählt von einem Mann, \\
